Trewon Technologies, LLC would like to thank the Federal Data Strategy team and Federal CDOs for their hard work on behalf of Federal data stakeholders. For International Open Data Day, we’d like to especially acknowledge the publications of the comprehensive data inventories by Federal agencies. Because of everyone’s incredible work, Federal data is now more open than ever before.

In my capacity as interim Deputy CDO, I had the opportunity to interact with an incredible group of people from across the department as we worked on our data inventory. I realized that the most exciting thing is that the inventory is only the beginning. It can be used to build bridges both within and between agencies. It’s a starting place to provide even more value to the public.

The COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated the timeliness of the Federal Data Strategy, and the benefit CDOs bring to their agencies. The Federal CDO Council played a key role with their COVID-19 Data Coordination Focus Area. Looking to the future, the possibility of a National Secure Data Service, and the forthcoming Phase 2 guidance for the Evidence Act promise to leverage Federal data even more.
